Scott Piercy didn't get his 2015 Northern Trust Open off to a good start on Thursday.

Piercy opened on the 315-yard 10th at Riviera Country Club, one of the best short par 4s on the planet. He took out driver and landed in the back greenside bunker. Then it got ugly from there. Piercy played four consecutive shots from bunkers, going back and forth between the back bunker and the one guarding the front-right side of the putting surface.

With his fifth shot, Piercy finally ends up the green. He sank the putt for double-bogey 6. It was ugly and led to a terrible first nine of 7-over 43 with five more bogeys thrown in for good measure.
