Fred Couples was at Torrey Pines on Wednesday, visiting friend and Tiger Woods' caddie Joe LaCava while on vacation in the San Diego area. Couples spent some time catching up with Woods, too.

The presumptive favorite to become the 2016 Ryder Cup captain, however, was not there to take pictures with fans -- particularly selfies. One fan didn't get the memo and tried to snap one with Couples, with Golfweek's Adam Schupak catching the awkward scene on his own camera.

There's a reason they call it a selfie: It typically involves one person.

Considering both people involved -- the guy taking the picture and the guy who didn't want to be in a picture -- are over 50, maybe it would have been better not to use the front-facing camera.

And on top of it all, Couples isn't even playing this week. Let him vacation in peace!
