2016 Open Qualifying Series tournaments and results

The R&A has announced the tournaments that will participate in its 2016 Open Championship Qualifying Series, a total of 10 events that will determine 32 spots in the Open at Royal Troon.

A total of 10 tournaments, plucked from the PGA Tour, European Tour, Sunshine Tour, Asian Tour, Australasian Tour and Japan Tour, will offer spots in the Open to players not already exempt into the year's third major when the events are played.

The invitations are based on finish, as follows:

Nov. 26-29 -- Emirates Australian Open (Australasian PGA Tour) -- 3 players in the top 10 and ties -- Matt Jones, Rod Pampling, Nick Cullen

Dec. 10-13 -- Thailand Golf Championship (Asian Tour) -- 4 players in the top 12 and ties -- Jamie Donaldson, Lee Westwood, Clement Sordet, Phachara Khongwatmai

Jan. 14-17 -- Joburg Open (Sunshine Tour and European Tour) -- 3 players in the top 10 and ties -- Haydn Porteous, Zander Lombard, Anthony Wall

TBD -- Mizuno Open (Japan Tour) -- 4 players in the top 12 and ties

June 2-5 -- Nordea Masters (European Tour) -- 1 players in the top five and ties 12 and ties

June 9-12 -- FedEx St Jude Classic (PGA Tour) -- 4 players in the top 12 and ties

June 23-26 -- Quicken Loans National (PGA Tour) -- 4 players in the top 12 and ties

June 30 - July 3 -- Alstom Open de France (European Tour) -- 4 players in the top

July 7-10 -- Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open (European Tour) -- 4 players in the top 12 and ties

July 7-10 -- The Greenbrier Classic (PGA Tour) -- 1 players in the top five and ties
