New Jersey isn't without its share of incredible golf courses. The best golf course in the world, Pine Valley, is in New Jersey. Up and down the state, brilliant courses are just a Turnpike exit away.

Galloway National Golf Club is not only one of the state's best courses, it's also home to some of the most incredible waterside views you'll ever experience on a golf course.

Opened in 1995, this par-71 Tom Fazio design has been ranked in the top 100 golf courses in the United States. It plays just a smidge over 7,100 yards from the Championship tees, one of four boxes on the course. When the wind blows in off the bay, the course can play even longer. As you might imagine with a Fazio course, there are plenty of multi-tiered greens, offering plenty of challenge.

Sometimes Fazio courses are unfairly accused of looking too well-manicured. That's not the case at Galloway National, which offers the right mix of a buttoned-up private club and an embrace of the natural wetlands on the edges of the property.

The short-ish par-3 second lines the bay, which will probably distract you as you hit your tee shot over some perilous marsh grass. Perhaps the view of the round comes on the long par-3 17th hole, looking directly across the bay into the Atlantic City skyline.

The second nine at Galloway National is 400 yards longer than the front, giving you ample time to get your game in gear before the challenge really begins. Caddies are available and recommended, going for $60 per bag.

Galloway National Golf Club is the perfect place to play during an A.C. getaway. It's just outside of the hustle of the casino floor, secluded from inland traffic and housing. You'll feel like you're playing your own private property.
