At least a few times each year, we share a story of a guy who got drunk and drove his car onto a golf course. Or a guy who got dumped by his girlfriend and coped by doing donuts in his truck on a golf course. Or a guy who stole a car and got into a chase with police and went through a golf course.
But we'd yet to bring you the story of a guy who stole an ambulance and crashed it on a golf course -- until today. See? This one' s different.
Around 6:15 a.m., Indianapolis area police were called to Community East Hospital after an ambulance was stolen. Apparently, the ambo was jacked after paramedics took the patient inside the vehicle into the hospital...and left they doors unlocked and keys in it.

Using a GPS bug in the ambulance, police tracked down the vehicle on Maple Creek Golf & Country Club, a Pete Dye design in the area. Police were expecting a wide search for the suspect, but he was still inside the ambulance when he was apprehended about a half-hour after he stole it. Brilliant. The ambulance, which costs about $200,000, will be inspected for damage. Meanwhile, the golf course has damage to deal with as well.

Maybe the guy was bringing out an ambulance to get Tom Watson after Phil Mickelson ran over him with the bus at Gleneagles.
