If you're thinking of heading down to Rio in 2016 to check out the first Olympic golf tournament in 112 years, the ticket prices aren't going to make or break the decision.
The organizing committee for the '16 Games released ticket prices for all sports on the program on Tuesday, with golf coming in at some reasonable rates. "Preliminary" round tickets -- presumably meaning the practice rounds -- will cost about $43, with the "final" round tickets -- presumably for each of the 18-hole rounds -- will run about $77.
Which course will host the return of Olympic golf, as well what that course ultimately looks like, will get some clarity Wednesday when a court will compel developers to respond to a compromise plan to alter Gil Hanse's design in response to a lawsuit claiming the construction violates Brazil's environmental protection laws.
