The points are reset for the Tour Championship, giving the top five players control of their own destiny. If any of them win in Atlanta next weekend, they win the FedEx Cup and its $10 million first prize. Every other player needs a win and most of the top five to stumble to take the FedEx Cup.

Though 30 players qualified for the Tour Championship, there will be only 29 players in the field. Dustin Johnson, who entered the playoffs at No. 7 in the standings, has been on a leave of absence from the PGA Tour but had enough points in regular-season play to finish No. 30 and earn a spot in the Tour Championship. However, he won't play, instead earning last-place prize money and FedEx Cup bonus money for finishing 30th.
