Bill Belichick hassles Patriots reporter for wearing golf shoes at presser

Bill Belichick is probably one of the last people on the planet with the right to criticize anyone's fashion sense, but the New England Patriots coach did anyway on Friday.

The master of the cut-off sweatshirt poked fun at Comcast SportsNet New England reporter Tom Curran for wearing golf spikes to a news conference.

"Going golfing today, Tom?" Belichick asked once he realized what Curran was wearing. Curran said he had forgotten shoes when he left his house to head to the Patriots team facility. Sure, though a friend of mine once forgot his pants before going to high school, then he kept an emergency pair of slacks in his trunk for years.

Curran tries to blame Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady for the oversight.

"I have to work today," Curran said. "This is an oversight because I have to find out what happened to your damn quarterback so I ran outta the house."

Belichick, who would make a great Steven Wright copycat comic, replied deadpan: "On your way to the golf course, you stopped by here...I got it."
