There's a reason why you stand behind someone when they're hitting a golf ball. Of all the directions the ball can go, backward is the least likely. Then it's sideways -- especially in the direction the player's back is facing. But a shank? Not so crazy.
Unfortunately, a man recently learned the hard way about shanks. Fortunately for us, he caught it on video.
Kim Ahrens was set up to hit a tee shot as a male playing partner was taping her swing. She shanked it in the direction of the guy taping her, with the ball landing square in his crotch.
