This is the most Phil Mickelson thing ever.

Mickelson hit an errant tee shot at the short par-4 fifth hole at Ridgewood Country Club in the second round of The Barclays on Friday. That's not new. Where it landed isn't even new: in the hospitality tent (remember the 2006 U.S. Open?). What was new is that Mickelson decided to play his ball as it laid on the artificial turf-ish carpet on the outside of the hospitality tent, making a flop shot-type cut over the gallery toward the green.

Mickelson went on the make bogey, but not before fist-bumping a kid for playing it as it laid.
