It's a bittersweet day for the LPGA Tour in Pittsford, N.Y., and the greater Rochester community. Someone's going to win a major championship there, but it'll be for the final time.
The Wegmans LPGA Championship concludes on Sunday, but it ends a 38-year run of the LPGA having some kind of presence in the market. After this year, the LPGA Championship becomes the Women's PGA Championship, co-sanctioned by the PGA of America and LPGA, moving downstate into the New York City area.
Brittany Lincicome is the leader heading into the final round. As she was being announced on the first tee on Sunday at Monroe Golf Club, the announcer kind of forgot what tournament was being played today. Lincicome's reaction was priceless.
