Tiger Woods is making his fall schedule official, as he announced on his website Wednesday that he will indeed play in next week's BMW Championship and next month's Presidents Cup.

Woods is ranked second in the FedEx Cup Playoffs standings, behind Deutsche Bank Championship winner Henrik Stenson, and is assured a spot among the top 30 in the finale at the Tour Championship in two weeks. Meanwhile, the PGA Tour is off this week before the third leg of four playoff events, the BMW Championship, begins next Thursday at Conway Farms just outside of Chicago.

Woods was also officially named to the American Presidents Cup team after the conclusion of the Deutsche Bank Championship. The world No. 1 finished first among the 10 automatically qualifying American players, ahead of No. 2 Brandt Snedeker by over 7.5 million points.

The Presidents Cup will be played Oct. 3-6 at Muirfield Village G.C. in Dublin, Ohio, site of Jack Nicklaus' Memorial Tournament, which Woods has won five times, including last in 2012.
